Curriculum
At Team Tickles Child Care & Nursery we value time spent observing, documenting and reflecting on children’s learning.
When children are engaged in meaningful activities learning becomes optimal. When educators are fully engaged in children’s interest they are able to further their learning and development. Our learning environments encourage children to be active participants in their learning.
Social play is how children learn to interact in a positive and meaningful way. When children engage in social play they learn to negotiate, communicate and care for others which helps develop self-regulation.
Self-regulation is a child’s ability to identify why they are becoming upset and help them to return to being calm. Self-regulation is the foundation for social and emotional development which is the building blocks for all future relationships and learning.
Each child will experience a variety of activities that are suited to their daily needs. Weather permitting there will be outdoor play daily, as well as time to rest and/or sleep, as well as quiet and active times. Our educators are mindful of children’s needs and parental direction.

Daily Schedule
- Children are provided with opportunities to develop their small muscles and eye hand coordination. Such activities foster independent thinking, planning, problem solving, language and social skills
- Children’s gross motor skills are developed through challenging and non-competitive environment
- Literacy and language are integrated across the curriculum and throughout the day through a variety of learning experiences
- Staff promote the use of the whole language approach by encouraging children to speak and listen to their friends
The centre provides children with opportunities for
- Creation of sounds with voices, bodies and musical instruments
- Easy access to manipulate touch, play and explore musical instruments on their own
- Integration of music, songs and instruments with other activities such as art, outdoor play, stories and dramatic play

Team Infants (new born to 1 year old)
Our programme provides a loving and welcoming environment where your baby can grow from a bundle of joy to a bundle of interest and curiosity. Your baby’s caregiver is a nurturing child development professional who is focused on creating experiences and opportunities that promote exploration and also support the important development that is occurring during the child’s first year. More than just day care, we are thoroughly focused on keeping your baby happy and secure. We offer personalised care for each infant based on his or her particular schedule, nutrition, and any other special attention he/she requires.
Team Toddlers (1 to 2 year old)
Young toddler care can contribute to early childhood development. In fact, our programme is focused on using hands-on exploration and social interaction in a safe and engaging environment in order to assist toddlers learn about his or her expanding world. In addition, with the guidance of our professionals, toddlers enjoy learning experiences that promote their independence and social skills, as well as foster their self-confidence.
Team Pre-Schoolers (2 to 3 year old)
At Team Tickles Child Care & Nursery our preschool programme helps children to achieve school readiness in all areas of academic and social learning. Indeed our programme is filled with investigation, exploration and discovery, where active and enthusiastic children can expand their skills and knowledge. Our professionals ensure toddlers have joyful and meaningful learning experiences that will lead to success in school and in life.
